Yoga Fitness Exercises or Asanas

Yoga as an exercise originates from India. This is an ancient form of science which works on the premise that you can activate and/or block any function of the body towards achieving total body and mind balance. Since this is a practice invented by holy men -sadhus- of India, traditional yoga includes several prayers and meditation along with exercise.

In fact, this link between yoga fitness and the Hindu religion was what dampened plans for expansion some two decades ago. Today, however, the ISKON movement in the US has greatly contributed to the popularization and spread of yoga throughout the world.

Yoga Vs. Aerobics

Today people prefer yoga to aerobics and yoga fitness exercises are favored mainly because yoga can show some extremely miraculous cures. It surely does not happen everyday, however, most of the time you will feel the difference between what you were and what you are within just two days.

Yoga will start with the teaching of breathing control that it is believed to be the root cause of any imbalances in the body. No sooner will you complete two or three sessions of yoga fitness that you will feel cleansed from the inside. There are no better words available to describe this experience - you will feel renewed and charged with energy.

That feeling of well-being is so true and accentuated that it is not possible to stay skeptical at the benefits of a yoga fitness classes. Fortunately, yoga can be practiced anywhere - though if you get a private and quiet place it will be better. The guru will teach you which asanas (positions) you will have to practice and after you come for a week or two and you totally master the series of asanas that are beneficial for you, you can practice on your own at home.

The best part of yoga fitness is that these exercises never need to be done on a daily basis. In fact, if you do it regularly, it is great, but if you choose to practice only three days a week, or even only once a week, the results will still be amazing. The only difference here is that if you do it only once a week, you will take much longer to master it.

So, what are you waiting for? There is nothing
