Green tea is constantly receiving more attention as a dietary supplement with abounding health benefits. Green tea leaves have been used for at least four thousand years in Chinese medicine for treating various ailments. Traditional Chinese and Indian cultures and now many others, make use of green tea in today's medicinal practice as well. There are many benefits to consuming green tea and there are many ways in which to do it.

Of course there is the most traditional type - green tea. Available at health foods stores, herbal shops or in ethnic stores buy loose green tea leaves. Steep the leaves in boiling water for one to five minutes, or until the tea is the appropriate strength desired. Strain out the liquid and drink as is or add some milk and/or sugar to the beverage. Also good is to chill and make a green tea iced tea.

Another method to receive green tea into the body is through a green tea extract. Usually in a liquid form, green tea extract is concentrated to offer a more powerful amount of antioxidants and other nutrients green tea has to offer. The extract may be added to drinks, food, lotions, shampoos or even a drawn bath for skin benefits.

Dietary supplements are some of the most popular ways to add nutrients and dietary aids into the body. It is not always possible to drink a delicious cup of fresh brewed cup of green tea and a green tea pill or capsule is the perfect solution.

In tea-producing areas of Japan it has been recognized that people living in those areas have a reduced number of those suffering from cancers, than those who do not live in the areas where tea is grown and harvested. The reason suggested for that is the people who live in those areas, have green tea as a constant source of nutrition, through drinking green tea, eating green tea mints, eating foods enhanced with green tea leaves or chewing green tea gum. Many gum chewers can find green tea chewing gum an adding boost of green tea that be used at any time of the day or night.

Some people prefer sucking on a candy rather than chewing on gum. Green tea comes in that form as well, in the shape of green tea mints. Green tea mints are a good way to slowly ingest the compounds of green tea that make it so healthy.

Green tea ice cream. Now, who doesn't love ice cream and the eater gets their green tea antioxidants in while enjoying dessert. Green tea ice cream has been increasingly popular in the United States and in Europe after green tea gaining so much popularity.

Among these products green tea can be found in several other forms including but not limited to green tea chocolates, green tea lotions, green tea shampoos, green tea energy and cereal bars. Green tea in the form of powder has been added to just about any food product including milkshakes, iced drinks, lattes, puddings, pastries cookies and the list goes on and on. With so many ways to ingest or digest green tea, it makes it easier and easier to take care of and repair our bodies naturally.
